HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?
Ordering is easy. You can order via email or call Mychef at the posted telephone number. Valeri can answer any questions you may have.
HOW MUCH ADVANCE NOTICE DO I GIVE TO RECEIVE MY ORDER?
Most orders are filled within two days of notice. If you are in the Atlanta Metro Area, your order will be delivered to your home or office. If outside the Atlanta Metro Area, orders will be shipped to your home or office via Overnight Express Delivery.
WHAT IF I WANT SOMETHING THAT IS NOT ON YOUR MENU?
Menus are updated every two weeks, they are suggestions. If you have favorites, let us know and we will be happy to personalize your order.
YOU ARE IN GEORGIA, I’M IN ANOTHER STATE. CAN YOU SUCCESSFULLY SHIP MY ORDER?
Absolutely, we ship nationwide, Overnight Express Delivery. All orders are shipped in Styrofoam containers, packed in dry ice. Someone must be at your home or office to sign for the parcel and store to a freezer as soon as possible. Dry ice has a limited shelf life, so it is essential that the items be stored in the freezer immediately.
WHAT IF I RECEIVE MY FOOD AND THE ICE IS ALREADY MELTED?
Mychef will track the package, with the proper shipping company, to find out what the problem was. If it was the shipping company’s fault, then we take it up with them and get you out another order as quickly as possible. We are not responsible for orders left at Apartment complex offices, it is essential that someone sign for the package and store immediately to the freezer.
HOW IS MY FOOD PACKAGED?
All food items are made from scratch, flash frozen and shrink wrapped in USDA approved packaging and labeled with reheating instructions. They are carefully packed in heavy duty Styrofoam containers, packed in dry ice and shipped via Overnight Express Delivery.
HOW DO I PREPARE THE MEALS THAT I HAVE ORDERED?
Each meal arrives frozen in shrink wrap, labeled with reheating instructions. Some items are better reheated in simmering water, others better reheated in the oven, still others, in the microwave. These instructions are the absolute best way to revive the freshness of the dish. It is essential that you follow the instructions; it is the only way to guarantee food safety.
WHAT METHOD OF PAYMENT DO YOU PREFER?
Mychef.bz accepts personal or corporate checks, money orders, cash, wire transfers, and all major credit/debit cards. Payment is due upon delivery.
REGARDING CATERED EVENTS…
WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF BOOKING A PARTY?
Booking the date of the party is most critical. Call Valeri to see if the date is available and to block that date. Selecting the menu, determining the amount of individuals attending, determining necessary equipment such as plates, cutlery, tablecloths, etc., determining if any equipment must be rented, if floral arrangements are required, servers, bartenders, music, etc., is the next step. All expenses are considered and a per person quote is given. If the quote is accepted, then we must view the site. If, after viewing the site, it is determined that additional equipment is needed the quote is revised. If the quote is accepted, a catering contract is drawn up between Mychef and the Client detailing responsibilities and a 50% deposit is required. A Certificate of Liability and/or Bonding is issued to the Client.
WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL THE PARTY?
In the Catering Contract there is a date for final agreement, usually 2 to 3 weeks out from the actual date of the party. If you cancel before that date, your deposit will be refunded; if after that date, the deposit is non-refundable as certain rentals and preparations have already begun.
DO YOU ONLY CATER IN PEOPLE’S HOMES
No, we have catered in Museums, Art Galleries, Neighborhood Club Houses, Corporate offices, Parks, Chastain Music Events, and Hospitals and even in a Five Star Hotel Room! You pick the place and it’s our pleasure to serve you there.
WHAT IF I JUST WANT YOU TO DELIVER THE FOOD FOR THE PARTY?
This is an economical way to throw a party. The client supplies everything but the food. Valeri will arrive about one hour before the event in order to properly reheat the items and plate them for the Client. The client must follow certain food safety reheating and handling instructions. Once the Food items have been delivered, the Caterer can no longer have knowledge if the food has been handled properly. We will require a signed disclaimer from the Client, acknowledging the reheating and handling instructions and releasing the Caterer from Liability.
HOW MANY APPETIZERS PER PERSON IS THE RULE OF THUMB?
Several factors must be considered such as what time of day or evening the event will be held, how long the event will last, how many guests are expected. With our ChefTec software, we are able to calculate a per piece price per guest. Valeri will determine how many are necessary based on the above information.
DO YOU PROVIDE TABLES AND CHAIRS?
No. However, we can assist in renting the equipment and having it delivered to your home or office before the party and picked up after the party.
WHAT DO YOU PROVIDE FOR THE PARTY BESIDES THE FOOD?
We interview the Client to assess what will be necessary. If it is a small party we provide all plates, cutlery, linen napkins, tablecloths, table decorations, salt and pepper shakers, butter dishes, candelabras, wine glasses, martini glasses, crystal, chaffing dishes, silver serving platters and all necessary reheating equipment in the per person price.
DO YOU PROVIDE SERVERS AND BARTENDERS?
Yes, we can refer them; however, they are not employees of Mychef.bz. Therefore, they are not covered under our Corporate Liability policy. Mychef.bz is not liable for alcohol, the servers and bartenders would be covered under the homeowner’s or corporation’s liability policy.
